Canon

Dean Winchester { supernatural } fullonobiwan Dean is Sam's brother, and the only family Sam has left. Dean, in fact, is the one person that Sam would do anything for, with the exception of shutting up when he's being a whiner. Dean is also the reason why Sam is currently in the situation he's in -- addicted to demon blood, not stuck in the flupocalypse (not that Dean knows this) -- and Sam, honestly, would not look back. None of this, however, would stop him from complaining when Dean's pet angel dropped them off in the Flupocalypse. In fact, Sam bitched for a good long while, and was resentful of the fact that Dean was settling so well into this because they had shit to do back home, and that Apocalypse to worry about, but Dean clearly didn't care. Sam, in the end, still makes the choice to go with his brother, because where else is he going to go. Dean's his brother. Not long after that, they run into Elijah and Elena. Sam wasn't thrilled with the idea of picking them up, but Dean was the one driving, so Sam didn't really have much of a say in the matter. Besides, it would probably be good to have them stuck with more than just each other. They continued driving, occasionally stopping to gather supplies or get some sleep, and so far, everything seems to be going a little better than it was before. That is, until Elena left. She and Elijah split after running into a member of Elijah's family, and after that, Dean and Sam started fighting again, but to be fair Dean had it coming. Lepruchans? Really?

Cross Canon

Elena Gilbert { the vampire diaries | tv } braveandstupid Sam met Elena when he and Dean picked them up off the side of the road. Sam thinks she's a nice girl, but she seems to get along better with Dean than she does with him. Still, it's nice to have someone else be the buffer between him and Dean, and if anything it keeps them from fighting. Or, at least, she was. Elena and Elijah ran into Elijah's brother, and left to go meet up with them in Montana. Sam and Dean haven't seen her since.

Amy Pond { doctor who } keptbiting Amy was the girl that came out of the blue police box that appeared in the middle of nowhere. They first met when the TARDIS materialized in the middle of the road in front of the Impala. Amy is the one of the two who nicknamed him the Hair and tried to keep their identities a secret -- rather badly, in fact. Sam wasn't exactly the kind of guy to believe in time machines, but whoever they were, they were definitely a little weirder than most. They parted ways, and Sam hasn't seen them since.

The Doctor (11) { doctor who } ilovethatnoise The Doctor is the owner of the TARDIS, a machine that supposedly travels through time, space and other universes and is bigger on the inside. Sam isn't sure he believes it. They first met when the TARDIS met the Impala and the Doctor and Amy happened to pop out of it. While Amy called him "the Hair," the Doctor made Goliath jokes at his expense. Sam refused to be amused. Sam is a stick in the mud that way. They parted ways not long after that and Sam hasn't seen them since.

Dropped

Elijah Mikaelson { the vampire diaries | tv } respected Sam met Elijah when he and Dean picked up Elijah and Elena off the side of the road. For right now, Sam isn't really sure what to make of the guy. He seems nice enough but he's creepily quiet and doesn't let Elena out of his sight if he can help it. Sam's spider sense would be tingling at that, but considering it's the end of the world and ninety percent of the population is dead, he can't blame Elijah for wanting to make sure he didn't lose anyone else. Still, there's something not quite right about the guy, but Sam can't quite put his finger on it. Sam didn't get enough time to figure it out, however, because Elijah managed to run into some of his family, and took Elena with him, leaving Sam and Dean by themselves.
